Rugby Theatre is one of the outstanding volunteer theatres in the UK. Their live shows are often compared to the quality of those performed in London’s west end. In 2015, their identity was in need of an update to reflect the outstanding theatre they produce. The identity has a modern and timeless feel, whilst retaining references to the history of the theatre through the use of a classic serif typeface. The R and T initials are united within a white circle to create a graphic ‘spotlight’. This allows simplicity of use and aids high recognition across the many marketing items the theatre produce. We created a set of identity guidelines to help the theatre manage their branding internally.
